Dr. Marvin Cain

Dr. Marvin Cain earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ohio State University in 1955. He studied with Master Dr. E.C. Wong, with the Chinese Academy of Acupuncture, with whom in 1973 he received his International Certification in acupuncture. He worked with the Masters in Korea and Japan, which included Dr. Manaka, Dr. Nakatani, Dr. Yamada (then Dean of the Waseda College of Acupuncture in Tokyo, Japan), Dr. Okada, Dr. Namikoshi (Dean of the Nippon Shiatsu School in Tokyo, Japan).
In 1975 he co-founded the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) and in 1996 he published his book, Acupuncture Diagnosis and Treatment of the Equine.
Dr. M. Cain had the pleasure to treat some of the thoroughbreds that made history in the US like Unbridled, Risenstar, Dynaformer, Najran, Lifes Magic, Lady Secret, and many more.

Dr. Mieke Maelfait

Dr. Mieke Maelfait graduated as Doctor in Veterinary Medicine at Gent University in Belgium in 1977. She was the co-founder of a Veterinary Clinic with Dr. Emiel Van Den Bosch in 1977 (former president of IVAS) in Belgium and specialized in acupuncture and herbology. She was the head of the exam committee in IVAS for several years. She lectured the first herbology course for IVAS in Belgium together with Jim Skoien, registered acupuncturist NCCAOM-USA, education at Nanjing College in Nanjing and TCM Hospital in Shangai, China.
She left Europe in 2003 to join Dr. M. Cain and specialize in Equine Acupuncture.
In 2005, she became a member of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture (AAVA)
Dr. Marie (Mieke) Maelfait is the founder and president of Noah’s Arc Inc. USA.
